Installing Debian GNU/Linux (Sarge)
1. To start, insert Disk Debian Sarge into the physical CD-ROM drive
Boot to the install disc.

2. Enter linux26 for the newer kernel

3. Select your Language

4. Your Region

5. Select Keyboard

6. Detect Hardware

7. Loading Components

8. Detecting Network

9. Configure Network

10. Let it fail – for now

11. Next screen, choose not to configure the network right now. Relax, we’ll get to it.

12. Choose a Hostname

13. The installer will start the partition utility.

14. Choose to Manually Partition

15. Delete any existing Partitions

16. Make new Partitions

17. Let’s make them Primary Partitions

18. Next up we’ll mount the new partition

19. Then we’ll make another partition, this time our /home partition.

20. Then we make Swap

21. You’ll choose to “Use As” on your Swap partition, and choose “Swap Area”

22. Your partitions are made, you can arrow down to Finish Partitioning and write changes.

23.Arrow to “yes”, you have to write what you just made. The installer gives you this warning page as a last warning – it wants to make sure you really want to make these partitions. Of course you do.

24. Now Debian starts to install. Woohoo!

25. The boot loader GRUB needs to go in now. Choose yes to let it install.

26.That’s it for now. It’s finished. Choose continue to allow your machine to reboot. Don’t forget to go back into your BIOS when rebooting and choose to boot from your HDD-0 now. Leave the disc in the drive.
